Tip of The Day

Ride your bike, clean and with a smile on your face. Don't use PEDs.

This is just horrible news. As you and I have bantered about before, not all riders dope, but they damage the reputations of everybody. Clean riders, like you, are faced with a desire to win with the balancing act of staying true to personal belief.

Lots of riders dope and it is a major problem, but there is growing hope for riders like you who ride clean.

I'm seriously in shock. Hopefully this will lead to more house-cleaning... If they are guilty, they need to go. In the long term, this will be good for the sport.

The sport is not clean, far from it, but most riders are indeed clean and would not dream of using PEDs. But like you said, nobody pays attention to that...

Couldn't agree more, and yes this is good for the sport, but we need to get deeper and break the culture of silence that is evident in all this.

For starters, those who love the sport must get behind WADA and Dick Pound, no organisation is more aware of the dept of this than they are.

Just a secondary note, I notice that there are implications for Spanish tennis as well.

I hope all the sports implicated in this take cycling's lead and stand down any athletes involved.

It's a great day for cycling because it has shown some leadership. There is strength in adversity.

I don't use Peds, I try to walk only when I have to... That's why I bike! ;)

I agree with regards to WADA, lets let them do their job.

I suppose it's up to you if you want to pollute your body with PED's (Not talking about you, Mags, this is the generic you!) If you do though, there should be a Gladiator class available and a lifetime ban from ALL sanctioned racing if testing positive in the "Clean" class! I oersonally am against PED's, and think someone would have to be insane to use them, what with the physiological damage resultant!

I too have trouble understanding the motives for using PEDs...

Mags, drop by and let me know how the racing is going!
